Advent Calendar Day 24 – Home Exercise Programme – Split Squat

I would love to say this is a favourite exercise among our members, but I think it is more of a love/hate relationship.

They love to hate it!

This is not only a great quad exercise, but also, if performed properly will increase range of motion at the ankle and help improve balance.

  1. Start with feet hip distance apart
  2. Step back with one leg and tuck your pelvis under so the knee is under your hips
  3. Keeping the back heel up high, slowly lower the back knee towards the ground
  4. Make sure the front foot stays flat. Push up through the front heel keeping your chest u
  5. Shoulders, hips and knee should be in a straight line as you perform the exercise
  6. Repeat on other side
